Ode to my friend Sophia…

This collection of prints for Vallila Interior are inspired by my childhood friend Sophia who has a love for modern vintage and for home décor with bird motifs.

Peonies, birds, and lace doilies are my response to the design brief “romance.” The hand-painted watercolor peonies are romantic. The lace is from my mother’s collection of vintage doilies that she up-cycles into placemats for an artistic table setting. Patterns from the doilies are re-crafted to illustrate the delicate birds.
